About the Event
Immerse yourself in a week of studying Gypsy Jazz guitar in person with Filippo Dall’Asta, Giangiacomo Rosso and Francisco Batista on one of Europe’s most beautiful island!
The Gypsy Jazz Guitar Master Retreat is a unique, very intimate experience (only 9 spaces available) focused on developing your performance skills in Gypsy Jazz guitar.
By the end of the retreat, you will have exponentially grown your skills in right hand technique, rhythm (La Pompe, Bossa, Rumba, Bolero and more…), improvisation and repertoire so that you are ready to sit comfortably through your next jam session and have the confidence to take your skills to the stage.
You will learn how to get rid of that stiffness that a lot of us experience when we play in front of other people, so that by the end of the event you can experience that fluency and freedom in your playing that you always strived for.
You will achieve all this with the help of Filippo, Giangacomo and Francisco’s coaching, teaching methods and techniques, many hours of playing live in a group setting, and as much 1-1 attention as you need, so that you can get the most out of this experience.
In between instructional lessons and jam sessions, you’ll get to join Filippo, Giangiacomo, Francisco and 11 other guitarists exploring the countryside, lounging by the pool, taking a walk to one of Tenerife’s best beaches, explore the local nightlife and eat catered meals from local Spanish master chefs.

Daily improvisation workshops: students will be divided into groups according to their level, where you’ll get to improvise on a few selected tunes in order apply everything that you learn in the group classes. These are supervised by Filippo so that you can get constant support and make sure you are doing things right.

Meet Filippo Dall’Asta!
About
Filippo Dall'Asta is a professional Gypsy jazz guitar player and the founder of the Gypsy Jazz Guitar Master and Gypsy Jazz Guitar Makeover Coaching programs. At this point, Filippo has played over 1,500 gigs (and counting!), touring and recording with legends such as Mozes Rosenberg, Lollo Meier, Giacomo Smith, Duved Dunayevsky, and contemporary musicians such as The Onironauts and Tara Minton (Björk) to name a few.
His debut solo album, ‘Mediterasian,’ was lauded by the LA Music Critic Awards as ‘one of the best instrumental albums of 2018.’
Over the years, while continuously (and quite obsessively) honing his guitar skills, Filippo has learned how to effectively deal with the business side of the live music industry: becoming a performer and bandleader, promoting my work, gaining online visibility, and getting paid to play the big stages.
In addition to more than 18 years of teaching experience, about 2 years ago he has started the Gypsy Jazz Guitar Master project as a means to replicate his tried and tested process with his students. Since then, Filippo has helped dozens of students to become professional Gypsy Jazz guitarists, promote their work and get paid to play.
His goal is to help Gypsy jazz guitarists use this process to realise their calling as artists and rise up as recognised musicians.

Is lodging provided?
Yes, lodging is provided and included in the price. Participants who book as a couple will have their own individual apartments and participants who come alone might have to share apartments.

Yes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided throughout the retreat. Dinners and evenings will be an opportunity to relax, socialize, enjoy the beautiful place…and jam more!
I’m a beginner to Gypsy Jazz – is it for me?
The basics and fundamentals are so important & no one will be left behind. You will be divided into groups according to your level
Beginners and newbies are welcome! Upon registering Filippo will schedule a call with you to discuss your skill level and goals.
How many students are you taking?
I’m limiting the group to 12 students so that everyone will receive Filippo’s personal attention, and to keep the experience intimate.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel your spot before or on August 1st, you will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the amount paid. Any cancellations following that date will not be refunded
What should I bring with me?
All you need to bring is your guitar! If you’re not able to bring your guitar, contact Filippo at info@gypsyjazzguitarmaster.com to see if we can find a solution for you.
Will the Gypsy Jazz Guitar Master Retreat be recorded?
Yes, the retreat teaching sections of the Gypsy Jazz Guitar Master Retreat will be recorded, and posted privately for you to review in the future.
